Company Hiring Diesel Mechanic B Level Job Description

We are seeking a skilled B-Level Diesel Mechanic to join our equipment maintenance team, focusing on servicing and repairing diesel-powered construction equipment, trucks, and support vehicles. This full-time role is based in Eatontown, NJ, with future travel required throughout New Jersey. Candidates with extensive automotive mechanic experience are encouraged to apply, especially those looking to transition into heavy equipment and diesel systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Service skid steers, compressors, generators, trailers, and other rental fleet equipment.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety and emissions standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, brakes, steering, and suspension components.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair status to supervisors.
• Assist with field service calls and emergency repairs when needed.

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of experience as a diesel or automotive mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in shop and outdoor environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ASE or OEM certifications preferred but not required.
• Experience with construction equipment like skid steers, compressors, and generators.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to obtain a CDL if not already held.
