Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Description

Join our team as a Diesel Mechanic, where you will work in a dynamic shop environment focusing on tanker trucks. You will be responsible for running routine preventative maintenance, conducting inspections, and utilizing diagnostic tools to ensure the optimal performance of the vehicles. This role requires expertise in the repair or replacement of faulty equipment and completion of detailed work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on tanker trucks.
• Conduct inspections and run diagnostic tests on vehicles.
• Repair or replace any faulty equipment as necessary.
• Complete detailed work orders with accuracy.
• Utilize computer diagnostic software for troubleshooting.
• Weld and fabricate parts as needed for vehicle maintenance.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of maintenance experience.
• 4 years of experience working on fleet vehicles.
• Proficiency in using computer diagnostic software.
• Welding and fabrication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on large commercial vehicles and diesel engines.
• Familiarity with trailers, tanks, hoses, and conveyors.
• Ability to produce inspection reports.

Work Environment

Work in a shop with about 15 employees, focusing on tankers and part configuration. The company operates nationwide with approximately 350 employees. The role follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with the expectation to work on Saturdays as needed. Hours may vary depending on workload.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stockton, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
