\n\nCHKD Health System operates Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, Virginia’s only freestanding, full-service children’s hospital, located in Norfolk, Virginia, and its pediatric practices, multi-service health centers, and urgent cares throughout southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. Close to 4,500 clinical and non-clinical employees make up Team CHKD, all working together to provide health, healing, and hope for 425,000 local children.
\n\nAs members of CHKD Health System, CHKD Medical Group (CMG) pediatricians work closely with the full range of pediatric specialists and surgeons found at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. We are proud to employ more than 120 CHKD board-certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners in 19 primary care practices. \n\nAs a CMG Pediatrician, your responsibilities include:
\n\nProviding high-quality, compassionate pediatric care in an outpatient practice setting.
\n\nDiagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions in children.
\n\nBuilding strong connections with patients and families and fostering a supportive environment is important.
\n\nParticipating in rotating on-call duties as needed.
\n\nCollaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including subspecialists, nursing staff, and on-call triage.
\n\nEnsuring patient care is aligned with best practices and medical guidelines.
\n\nEngaging in continuing medical education and professional development.
\n\nApplicants must meet these qualifications:
\n\nBoard eligible or board certified in pediatrics (if board eligible; certification must be obtained within 2 years of residency completion).
\n\nMust possess a valid Virginia medical license.
\n\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
\n\nAbility to build excellent rapports with children and families.
