Job Description

The Fire Extinguisher Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, recharging, repairing, installing, selling, or testing portable fire extinguishers, fixed fire extinguisher systems, or engineered special hazard fire suppression systems. The Technician will be expected to meet weekly service and productivity goals.

This position is located out of our Charlotte, North Carolina District Office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage their time to complete the maximum amount of service calls while maintaining a high level of quality.
Achieve any weekly productivity goals assigned.
Learn applicable fire protection codes and obtain the applicable local and/or state licenses.
Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including the driving, personal protective equipment, and lockout/tag-out policies.
Maintain their vehicle in accordance with company procedures and ensure it is clean and organized.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Prior fire extinguisher experience.
Ability to obtain an ICC/NAFED Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician certification.
Experience in Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression (preferred but not required)
Knowledge of applicable inspection and servicing codes (preferred but not required).
Valid driver’s license and a current and sustainable good driving record.
Ability to sell, communicate effectively, and possess excellent customer service skills is highly preferred.
Ability to learn and comprehend general electrical safety procedures.
