Overview Diabetes Educator - Full-Time, 32 hours a week, Day Schedule. This position works with Pediatric and Adult Endocrinology. Providence Ambulatory Services offers patient-focused, whole-person care and a culture of commitment and mutual respect. This role provides education for clients with diabetes of all ages, tailored to individual needs, and involves collaboration with RNs & RDs in classroom or outpatient settings. Professional development and community outreach are part of practice. Responsibilities Provide education for clients with diabetes of all ages according to individualized needs (assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of education plans). Conduct health and education assessments considering psychosocial, economic, and language barriers. Collaborate with a team of RNs & RDs in classroom or outpatient settings. Engage in professional development and community outreach as an integral part of professional practice. Required Qualifications Oregon Dietitian License upon hire. National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire. Three (3) years of experience in treatment and education of diabetes within the last 2 years. Experience with current adult learning theory in relation to diabetes education. Experience with the clinical management of diabetes. Preferred Qualifications Formal coursework or credentials in principles of adult learning theory and patient-centered learning. Certification in Diabetes Education, or willingness to attain CDE certification upon hire. Experience with diverse ethnic groups.
