Provides clinical care in assigned areas. Serves as a member of the Spiritual Care Department Leadership Team. Since 2005, St. Louis Children's has been designated as a Magnet® hospital for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center® (ANCC). **Preferred Qualifications** **Role Purpose** Provides direct supervision for Chaplain staff on evening, night, weekend & holiday shifts. Provides clinical care in assigned areas. Serves as a member of the Spiritual Care Department Leadership Team. Contributes to the overall operation of Spiritual Care. **Responsibilities** + Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families. + Provides consultation to other members of the care team regarding spiritual issues and resources in patient and family care and regarding ethics. + Implements and participates in hospital wide improvement of quality care processes and services. + Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. + Provides direct pastoral care to staff and physicians, as needed, complementing staff support services provided by others. + May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals.
