Job Description

Agr International, Inc.’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key advisor to the President and leadership team and is essential in driving financial excellence and supporting Agr’s strategic goals.

The CFO will lead Agr’s financial strategy, planning, and management, ensuring operational efficiency, managing risk, and overseeing mergers and acquisitions. The CFO will balance financial stewardship with a growth mindset to ensure sustainable financial performance, and create key operating metrics to drive financial performance, cost savings, and support sales and marketing efforts. Responsibilities include financial management, forecast accuracy, accounting controls, and overseeing payroll, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Maintenance. A key focus of this role will be to identify value levers and shepherd the leadership team through implementation.

Primary Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy that supports the company’s overall business goals and growth plans.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, long-term financial planning, and forecasting.
  • Advise the President and executive team on financial performance, investment opportunities, and strategic business decisions.
  • Monitor industry trends, economic indicators, and market conditions to inform financial strategy.

Financial Operations:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, payroll, tax, treasury, and audit.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, budgets, and reports, to meet reporting requirements
  • Optimize the company’s working capital, cash flow, and liquidity management to support business needs.
  • Implement robust financial controls, processes, and systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.

EBITDA & Profitability Management:

  • Lead initiatives to optimize EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) and drive profitability across the business.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, operational efficiencies, and margin improvements.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure financial targets are set and met and aligned with business objectives.

Capital Management & Investment:

  • Manage the company’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing, to support growth and expansion.
  • Develop and execute strategies for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
  • Lead negotiations with financial institutions, investors, and stakeholders to secure funding and favorable terms.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, including currency, credit, and interest rate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and best practices.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships to enhance financial understanding and support decision-making across the organization.
  • Communicate financial performance, goals, and strategies to internal and external stakeholders, including the board of directors.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive financial leadership in a manufacturing environment that serves a global market.
  • Deep expertise in accounting, budgeting, tax, compliance, reporting (US GAAP), treasury, import/export, and regulatory matters.
  • Proven experience with strategic planning, financial analysis, operational finance, and business partnering.
  • Expertise in EBITDA optimization, cost control, and working capital management.
  • Demonstrated success scaling businesses through both organic and inorganic growth.
  • Background in highly engineered product environments within PE-backed or publicly traded industrial holding companies.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, Hyperion, and other financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with business intelligence/reporting platforms such as Power BI is a plus.
  • Proven track record of building and deploying systems and processes from the ground up.
  • Customer-focused leader with a collaborative, servant leadership approach.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Knowledge and Educational Achievements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA highly preferred.
