Spanish and Portuguese Linguist Interpreter/Translation up to 25% travel Job Category: Language Services Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI with Polygraph Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 25% Type of Travel: Outside Continental US CACI is seeking TS/SCI Poly-cleared candidates for Spanish and Portuguese language professionals to join our prime contract supporting government operations in Fairfax, VA. What You’ll Get to Do: This role will enable you to utilize both your linguistic and analytical skills for mission-driven roles. You will translate and/or transcribe intermediate to advanced-level printed materials, including but not limited to: technical manuals, foreign language periodicals, and audio files into correct grammatical American English. You will work either as a lead or as part of a team of linguists supporting CONUS and/or OCONUS operations. Education Required: Bachelor's degree or its equivalent (4 years or more of on-the-job experience in the specific HLT field) Testing requirements: Approved testing, translation, and speaking, listening, and reading assessments Years of related experience: Minimum of three years of professional translation and/or interpretation experience within the past seven years, or a recently completed M.A. degree in translation and/or interpretation. Work Location: WMA - split between two locations in the WMA area Language and level required: Spanish and Portuguese up to 25% travel Position Description: Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats, capturing facts, implications, and nuances. Interpret accurately, with proficiency in consecutive interpretation; rare occasions may require simultaneous interpretation. Knowledge of regional dialects is preferred. Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with high accuracy and clarity. Strong English writing skills are essential for report preparation. Additional skills: Ability to summarize factual points and abstract concepts effectively. Proficiency in MS Office, internet research, and basic web research skills. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including presenting briefings. Tool Familiarity: Microsoft Office suite & PowerPoint is required.
