SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, QUALITY AND REGULATORY

In this role, you will guide our product development process as we refine existing and pioneer exciting new products for pet parents everywhere. You’ll also lead our quality and regulatory teams in maintaining a world class manufacturing operation. 

SynergyLabs, Inc. is an industry leading manufacturer of animal care products produced in our state-of-the-art facility in Hildebran, North Carolina. We distribute our bestselling brands across pet specialty, mass, food and drug, farm and feed, and digital channels with a global footprint that includes 62 countries and counting. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee process of developing a robust pipeline of topical and ingestible products by focusing our internal teams and external partners toward successful outcomes.
  • Administer the product development process including resources, priorities, and timelines; ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate across R&D, regulatory, manufacturing, engineering and sales to deliver product innovation.
  • Ensure quality systems align with cGMPs, FDA, EU GxP, and ICH regulations.
  • Oversee internal audits, risk assessments, CAPAs, and documentation practices.
  • Maintain certifications and quality standards.
  • Develop and lead regulatory strategies for new product approvals in domestic and international markets.
  • Manage end-to-end regulatory submissions and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide strategic regulatory guidance on filings, testing, labeling, and claims substantiation.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with export/import regulations.
  • Manage technical investigations, and enhancements in formulation and processes, while exploring new ingredient and processing technologies.
  • Champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Experience and Education:

  • B.S./B.A. in a scientific discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Development, Quality and Regulatory Affairs within the food or pet industry, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • Direct experience with regulatory inspections and health authority communications.
  • Technical & Regulatory Knowledge
  • Proficiency with regulated e-systems and compliance platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in mentoring, team building, and influencing across all levels.
