***The ideal candidate must have strong Retail Store Manager experience***

SITKA GEAR is actively seeking a Retail Store Manager to lead our store opening in the Summer of 2024. You will provide leadership and direction to the store team and successfully execute company strategies. You'll be responsible for determining and maintaining optimal staffing levels, recruiting, hiring, coaching, and motivating a team of brand advocates who in turn will provide a "wow" factor level of customer experience. The Retail Sales Manager will drive store profitability by controlling expenses, protecting company assets, and upholding store operational and visual merchandising standards. You must have a customer-first mindset, and thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing entrepreneurial environments.

*Responsibilities:*

*Sales and Profitability*
* Maximize store sales and achieve store sales goals
* Measure and monitor progress and results against KPIs
* Manage operating and payroll expenses to maximize sales and profitability

*Brand Experience/Customer Service*
* Drive excellence in customer service in-store by modeling brand service standards
* Monitor customer feedback and address all customer concerns quickly
* Ensure the store team engages with each customer to create an authentic brand experience
* Execute store marketing events and grow relationships in the community to generate brand awareness and drive traffic

*Training & Coaching Team*
* Hold store leadership to a company standard of customer service and engagement, brand identity, product knowledge, and operations
* Execute training programs, including education on product and assortment to enhance selling and customer engagement
* Conduct store meetings as needed
* Provide timely training, coaching, and feedback to enable team success and growth

*Operations & Inventory*
* Ensure the team follows all company and store policies and procedures
* Create and manage store schedules to support the needs of the business within the allotted payroll plans
* Maintain appropriate inventory levels
* Execute inventory receiving and replenishment processes efficiently and accurately"
* Execute inventory counts as needed

*Visual Merchandising*
* Maintain store visual merchandising standards
* Plan and execute floor sets and merchandising direction
* Communicate with corporate partners regarding merchandise assortment, trends, and needs

*Talent Management*
* Attract, recruit, and hire high-caliber talent as well as maintain a succession plan
* Create and develop a high-performing team of customer focused Guides and Leads
* Address performance issues appropriately and facilitate any disciplinary action as needed in partnership with HR
* Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures
* Maintain an Open-Door Policy

*Safety, & Compliance*
* Ensure compliance with safety and security policies and procedures
* Partner with Security to identify trends and translate strategies into action to meet company shrink goals
* Address and report any customer or employee injuries immediately

*Professional Conduct*

*Qualifications and Attributes:*
* High school diploma required; Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred but not required
* Experience working with a brand's own retail operation
* Ability to work weekends/be flexible with store hours
* Experience working with hunting/fishing/outdoor gear is a major plus
* At least 5 years of management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
* Experience in a specialty retail environment, outdoor apparel industry preferred
* Experience opening retail stores preferred
* Demonstrated success in achieving sales and profit results through leading store team
* Exceptional interpersonal skills founded on an authentic ability to deliver strong customer service
* Excellent decision-making skills and ability to balance shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to build, lead, and manage high-performing teams
* Detail-orientated and excellent organization skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Power BI or like reporting tools, and retail POS
* Experience executing store community participation and events, with experience planning events preferred
* Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays

*Physical Requirements:*
* Operate office equipment and technology (i.e., computers, phones, copiers, etc.)
* Standing required for the entire work shift
* Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed
