PRN Chaplain Role at Alton Memorial Hospital Alton Memorial Hospital has an opportunity for a PRN Chaplain to provide spiritual care for their patients. Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. The purpose of professional Spiritual Care Services is to engage a person's spirituality and religious/cultural traditions as resources for his/her healing and well-being. All patients, families and hospital staff have access to Spiritual Care Services. Responsibilities Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families. Provides consultation to other members of the care team regarding spiritual issues and resources in patient and family care and regarding ethics. Provides direct pastoral care to staff and physicians, as needed, complementing staff support services provided by others. Contributes to the field of professional spiritual care by conducting and reporting research, publishing and providing workshops at professional meetings. Minimum Requirements Master's Degree in Theology or a related field. Preferred Requirements 1 Unit ACPE CPE or equivalent. Board Chaplain APC, NACC, AJC. Ordination or eligible.
