Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with critical care skills and experience in a Level I Trauma Center for rotating PACU and interventional radiology assignments.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is based in the PACU and includes rotation to pre- and post-interventional radiology areas
• Setting is a short-term acute care hospital and Level I Trauma Center
• Patient population consists of surgical patients, including GU, GYN, colorectal, bariatric, minimally invasive, and some ENT cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Assignment is 3x12 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with variable start times, primarily night shift (2100-0900)
• No weekend shifts required
• On-call required: 24 hours per 6-week schedule, as needed
• Floating may occur within the service line
• Epic is the EMR used, and experience with Epic is required
• Use of mechanical ventilation, telemetry, and frequent IV starts
• Responsible for managing complex post-operative and pre-op patients including those with multiple drains, on vasopressors, and recovering from general anesthesia
• Team structure supports care in both PACU and IR pre/post settings
• Orientation includes required modules and in-person attendance with navy scrubs
• Fit testing required and must be clean-shaven if applicable
• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed during the 13 week contract, and no time off permitted the first week
• First time travelers are accepted
• Parking options available for a monthly fee; orientation parking not reimbursed
• Dress code requires navy scrubs
• Must be able to complete all required modules prior to starting assignment

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least 1 year of critical care or Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Proficiency in ventilation, vasoactive drip management, and telemetry required
• Experience with Epic EMR system required
• First time travelers welcome
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• Must provide SSN and DOB for consideration
• No previous permanent employment at this health system within the last year
