Nanny / Mother’s Helper / Family Assistant Needed
Location: La Mesa
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–6:30/7 PM; occasional Saturday or Sunday mornings/afternoons (approx. 14–20 hrs/week)
Compensation: $19–$22/hr DOE (Regular rate paid for any federal holidays worked)
We are a warm and active family seeking a reliable, caring, and experienced nanny/mother’s helper to support with childcare and light household tasks. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, organized, proactive, and able to create a positive, engaging environment for our two boys (ages 6 and 8).
Responsibilities
Childcare
Follow a consistent daily routine for two boys (6 and 8)
Assist with homework or school projects as needed
Engage in educational and creative play (reading, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, etc.)
Support children’s routines with patience, structure, and warmth
Household Tasks
Light housekeeping (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping)
Wash and put away dishes
Laundry and general tidying
Maintain an organized and clean household environment
Qualifications
Prior experience as a nanny or in a similar childcare role (required)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Warm, patient, and proactive demeanor
Non-smoker
No phone use while supervising children
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Background check may be required
Reliable, punctual, and able to take initiative
Excellent communication and time management skills
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
A genuine love for children and commitment to their well-being
Positive professional references
Additional Notes
The mother is actively involved in childcare and household management. Tasks are shared, with the nanny focusing on housework when the children are occupied and shifting back to childcare once housework is complete.
Respect for the family’s schedule is essential. Please maintain punctuality and communicate clearly about any scheduling conflicts.
Emergency or unplanned absences should be accompanied by appropriate documentation (e.g., a doctor’s note).
