Description Job Title: Industrial Insulator Location: Haverhill, OH Company: ALTIVIA ALTIVIA, a leader in chemical manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Industrial Insulator to join our Haverhill, OH facility. This location is a key part of our operations, specializing in the production of high-value chemicals that support a variety of industries. The Industrial Insulator will play a vital role in maintaining process stability, energy efficiency, and safety by installing, maintaining, and repairing insulation on industrial equipment such as pipes, tanks, reactors, and heat exchangers.
Responsibilities: - Apply insulation to industrial systems, including pipes, tanks, ducts, heat exchangers, and boilers, to maintain temperature control and reduce energy loss.
- Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials to required dimensions using tools such as tape measures, handsaws, and knives.
- Fabricate and install insulation pads as needed to ensure proper coverage and protection of equipment.
- Secure insulation materials in place with straps, tape, adhesives, or other fastening methods.
- Install protective covers, such as sheet metal, over insulation to protect it from environmental and physical damage.
- Inspect insulation systems regularly to identify areas needing repair or replacement and perform necessary maintenance.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine insulation requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to support ongoing plant projects and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain a high standard of safety by adhering to company policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and maintenance.
Qualifications: - Industrial insulation experience, preferably in a chemical manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Knowledge of insulation materials such as mineral wool, calcium silicate, foam glass, and other high-performance materials.
- Familiarity with insulation techniques for both hot and cold applications, including cryogenic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders.
- Strong commitment to safety, with experience in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with safety protocols.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications: - Certification in industrial insulation or a related field.
- Experience with maintenance operations in a chemical plant setting.
