Belt Power LLC is a full-service distributor and fabricator specializing in the fulfillment of conveyor system requirements for the processing, manufacturing, and material handling industry. We place an emphasis on providing quality, value added components; as well as local service capabilities to support our customers’ needs. Our product line ranges from all types of conveyor belting, conveying equipment and components, belting accessories, hose and fitting products, plastics, gasket, and power transmission products.

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business unit leaders and operations managers.
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, performance review).
  • Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations; assists managers with employee relations issues.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Assists with implementation of company-wide initiatives including smart goals, annual performance reviews, merit increases and employee engagement surveys.
  • Facilitates benefits administration including company-wide and new hire benefits enrollment in coordination with Benefits Specialist or PEO Firm.
  • Manages leave of absence requests including FMLA administration and STD claim filing.
  • Serves as point person for workers compensation claims reporting, safety initiatives training, and OSHA tracking.
  • Responds to unemployment claims and participates in unemployment hearings.
  • Conducts ADA Interactive Process when accommodation is requested.
  • Maintains time and attendance system, provides system training, and facilitates attendance points system where applicable.
  • Serves as a Culture/Fun Committee representative for region.
  • Program Administration including Internships, Diversity Initiatives, etc.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to all team members.
  • Administers status changes in payroll system.
  • Maintains personnel files, I-9’s in compliance with retention guidelines.
  • Assists with terminations, layoffs, and furloughs as needed and prepares termination paperwork.
  • Ensures management follows termination checklist and coordinates exit with exit interviewer, tech ops and communicates with separating employee regarding benefits, Cobra, 401(k), etc.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Participates in administration, evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success; follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to site locations as needed (up to 20%).
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an HR Generalist function.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including HR administration, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or something similar is preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and will require manual dexterity and strength in arms.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities; ability to travel to site locations as needed (up to 20%).
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time onsite position. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Occasional overnight travel and weekend work may be required.

Pay Range: $80,000 -$90,000 a year
