The Lube Technician is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles. This includes adhering to express lube guidelines, performing lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, lubricating all joints including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rods ends and ball joints. The technician reports all necessary repairs to the service advisor, installs completed LOF reminder stickers in vehicles, checks battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refills as needed. They also check coolant levels and refill as necessary, ensure the vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints, and check fluid levels prior to release of the vehicle to ensure proper levels. The technician maintains CSI at or above company standards, keeps an organized, clean and safe work area, participates in required training, records all hours worked accurately in the company timekeeping system, follows safeguards rules and regulations, demonstrates the company’s core values, complies with company policies and procedures, and observes all federal, state, local and company safety rules and regulations. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications include a high school diploma, up to 3 years of automotive work experience, basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems, mechanical skills, technical training or equivalent experience, a valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various physical positions. The work environment includes exposure to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. The job requires regular and predictable attendance including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
