The EKG Monitor Technician plays a crucial role in monitoring patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms in a healthcare setting.

This position requires a keen understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to operate telemetry equipment effectively.

The technician will work closely with nursing staff and physicians to ensure the highest level of patient care is maintained.

2nd and 3rd shift (4x10) 1pm-11:30pm or 10pm-8:30am

Duties include but not limited to

• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment.
• Collect recordings and patient symptoms as needed.
• Document and report any changes in patients' conditions to the nursing staff promptly.
• Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret telemetry readings and provide insights into patient care.
• Conduct routine checks on telemetry equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Educate patients and their families about telemetry monitoring processes as needed.

Experience

• High school diploma; CET, CCT, CRAT certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a hospital setting.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to cardiology and physiology is essential.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring techniques and equipment operation.
• Understanding of anatomy relevant to cardiac health is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret monitors and strips.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are necessary.
