Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Description

A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, buses, and heavy machinery. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, replacing parts, and ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Run diagnostic tests to pinpoint problems within diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, and other components.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Repair or replace faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, fuel systems, and other mechanical components.
• Diagnose and repair issues across various systems, including hydraulics, brakes, transmissions, steering, and electrical systems.
• Maintain detailed records of all services, repairs, and parts inventory, ensuring accurate documentation for each vehicle.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
• Consult with customers to understand issues and explain repairs when applicable.
• Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical issues.
• Experience with hydraulic, brake, transmission, steering, and electrical systems.
• Ability to maintain detailed records and documentation.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to adhere to company policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in welding and fabrication tasks.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.

Company offers full benefits, PTO, and 401k as well as room for monetary growth based on tenure and performance.

This is a fully onsite position in Mobile,AL.
