Construction Management Intern

BBI Real Estate is looking for hard working and problem-solving student looking to gain valuable hands-on experience with construction project management and budgeting within the commercial real estate industry. As a Construction Management Intern at BBI Real Estate, you will collaborate with our experienced construction professionals to ensure successful project execution, adherence to budgets, and timely completion of projects. What you’ll be doing.

• Work alongside the BBI Real Estate team learning directly under experienced commercial real estate professionals
• Assist in the development and management of project budgets, tracking expenses, costs, and reviewing contractor bids to ensure cost-effectiveness
• Collaborate with the construction management professional to create project schedules, timelines, and milestones, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion
• Support project documentation and record-keeping, including maintaining accurate project logs, reports, and correspondence
• Attend project meetings, site visits, and inspections, contributing to discussions and taking notes as needed
• Assist in coordinating communication between contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project workflows
• Collaborate with the team to review and assess construction plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements
• Monitor and report on construction quality, identifying any potential issues and working with the team to develop solutions
• Assist in preparing and distributing project updates and reports to internal teams and external stakeholders
• Support the implementation of safety protocols and compliance with building codes and regulations on construction sites

What you’ll bring to the table.

• Junior and Senior undergraduates pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, urban planning or real estate preferred
• Capable of completing the 12-week program at our Columbus office
• Able to work in office as this internship does not offer remote opportunities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey project information to stakeholders
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in project documentation
• Prior experience or coursework related to construction project management, budgeting, and scheduling is a plus
