Description Are you a highly motivated college student looking for work experience in the public sector? A College Student Worker assists regular employees in the more routine aspects of their jobs and carries out specific assignments under supervision. Duties may vary from routine clerical assignments in an office setting to manual labor assignments in departments involved in maintaining parks, beaches, roads, etc. PAYROLL TITLE: Student Worker III SALARY: $18.53 Hour / Previously $17.78 Hour AGENCY/DEPARTMENT: Various Incumbents may also be eligible for bilingual incentives depending upon operational needs and certification of skills. Placement on the eligible list does not guarantee interviews or immediate openings. Hiring managers are not obligated to interview every candidate. The schedule for the remainder of the process depends on the number of qualified applications to meet business needs. Examples Of Duties Performs data entry. Shelves books. Files materials and pulls material from established files. Opens and sorts mail. Delivers mail and supplies. Proofreads written material. Assists with research. Operates office equipment and machines. Assists with collection and analysis of statistical data. Assists with conducting special studies in a variety of occupational fields. Assists with the preparation and the presentation of oral and/or written reports. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education, Training, And Experience Student Worker III - No experience is required. Students must provide proof that they are enrolled in at least nine (9) units of academic/technical college/university courses at the undergraduate level OR at least six (6) units at the graduate level. Some departments may require proof that the students be enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) units of undergraduate study. Student Worker III may work during the summer with appropriate enrollment and may be eligible for summer terms as described. Audits of class enrollment will be routinely completed to ensure minimum requirements are being met. Some jobs may require a valid California driver license.
