Job Description

Connsci is seeking a Cloud Engineer to provide enterprise-level support for one of our large federal customers. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud operations within a hybrid infrastructure across Microsoft Azure GovCloud and Microsoft 365 GCC High tenants. In this role you can expect to: • Administer, secure, and optimize Azure-based infrastructure and M365 services, including AVD, VMs, and storage. • Troubleshoot hybrid network issues and support tickets, escalating as required. • Develop scripts and automation (PowerShell, Bash, CI/CD pipelines) to streamline deployment and maintenance. • Monitor cloud resource consumption and recommend cost-efficiency improvements. • Implement and manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and SSO authentication in cloud and hybrid environments. • Produce and maintain system design documentation, governance policies, and knowledge articles. • Conduct internal technical reviews and recommend improvements to cloud performance, security, and operations. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience • At least 3 years of cloud engineering experience with Azure and M365 • Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator. • At least 1 year of experience with AD, virtualization, cloud administration, and DevOps tools • Minimum government clearance level of Secret or Public Trust High Risk Tier 3 with willingness to upgrade to Public Trust High Risk Tier 4 Preferred Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes). • 3+ years of experience working with federal IT cloud security standards. • Current Top Secret or Public Trust High Risk Tier 4 clearance

 
Location: This role allows for primarily remote work but there is a chance for occasional time in office for critical/collaborative initiatives. The office location is in Washington, DC and is Metro and rail (Union Station) accessible.
