Title: Analytical Chemist – Biologics

Duration: 18 months

Location: Andover, MA 01810

Pay range- $40 - $43 per hour on W2

Position Summary

A highly motivated and experienced Analytical Chemist is needed to join the team. The focus of the role is the characterization of polysaccharides, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), and other biologics. The successful candidate will implement analytical methods to support the analysis of process development samples for polysaccharide and protein/mAb therapeutics. This role requires strong expertise in SEC-MALS, protein biochemistry, and proven experience applying a variety of analytical techniques including N-glycan analysis, titer determination, Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Multi-Angle Light Scattering (MALS) detection, peptide mapping, imaged Capillary Isoelectric Focusing (iCE), and Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE), along with some Mass Spectroscopy (MS) experience to characterize mAbs and other proteins.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and execute analytical methods for characterization of mAbs, polysaccharides, and other proteins
• Perform SEC-MALS, N-glycan analysis, peptide mapping, iCE, CGE, and MS-based experiments
• Analyze and interpret data to support process development and product characterization
• Maintain meticulous records of experimental procedures, results, and instrument calibration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of analytical data with project goals

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
• Hands-on experience with analytical techniques for biologics, including SEC-MALS, peptide mapping, CGE, and iCE
• Familiarity with protein biochemistry and monoclonal antibody characterization
• Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a laboratory setting and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with polysaccharide therapeutics
• Experience with Mass Spectroscopy (MS) for protein characterization
• Knowledge of process development sample analysis for biologics
• Experience in GMP-compliant laboratory environments
